All photos were taken in natural light. Appearance of color may vary slightly under different light, and on various computer monitors. Color can also vary depending on the thickness of thread and dye lots. If you’d like to see our colors first-hand, email jennifer@mainethread.com to request a complimentary sample card.

Punches Above Its Weight

Strong but beautiful waxed hand sewing thread that is a joy to use. Strong enough, in fact, that easily threading only the outer 2-3 strands of braid holds the needle without having to try to pierce and thread the center of the braid. Creates an absolutely beautiful English style angled, or straight chiseled stitch line.

Excellent cord!

This is the best cord for jewelry making! It has a beautiful feel to it, very durable, uniform in diameter, easy to melt the ends for the finish. I’ve requested that they manufacture it a 1 mm diameter. I’ve been making jewelry for 30 years now and this is a beautiful cord in so many ways.. if people only knew….

Thank you, Kristin! So glad it's working for you.

New thread

So i tried this new braided thread and i love it!. I've used the twisted thread on all of my projects thus far and thats going to change. It keeps the needle more secure and has a clean, crisp look to finished projects.
