Color

All photos were taken in natural light. Appearance of color may vary slightly under different light, and on various computer monitors. Color can also vary depending on the thickness of thread and dye lots. If you’d like to see our colors first-hand, email jennifer@mainethread.com to request a complimentary sample card.

Many crafters use harness needles when sewing with waxed cord. Harness needles have a rounded point and are often used for hand-stitching leather. We recommend the following pairings for needle and thread

Excellent as always!

This waxed braided thread has continued to be wonderful. I was so excited to hear when Maine Thread announced they were coming out with a braided thread a while back. I have been using it since they released it. It is strong, smooth, and the colors are true and dependable. Couldn’t ask for anything more from thread.

Thank you for your review! Very glad to hear the braid is living up to your expectations! We are happy to have added it to our lineup.

Hanging Sculpture

I love this product. I've been creating ceramic tiles and using them to make hanging sculptures. Before I was using upholstery thread which worked fine, but wasn't the best aesthetically. The Maine Thread braided waxed cord is strong, beautiful, the slightly tacky finish allows for more control and subtle articulation, and I love the color options. Right now I'm using Granite and Russet and they create such a lovely, finished look for the sculptures. I will definitely be buying more.

Just the Best

I have been using the majority of the Chinese, Japanese, and French threads over the past year, and many of those are good for various reasons. but for my experience Main Threads braided poly is superior in every way.
